Reinforced fiberglass

This medical device is made in Polymethylmetacrylate with a reinforcing fiberglass structure polished and characterized by C-ORALIA‘s own processes.
This temporary element is made using CAD tecnologies for the phase of planning and virtual design and CAM for the lasersint phase.


The temporary element is made with a reinforcing fiberglass structure submerged in a polyamide and acrylic resin matrix for the coronal part. This portion is the reinforcing understructure, and is obtained by milling a block of industrial made polyamide material.
The traditional lab procedures to produce this kind of product are usually very difficult to develop and with bad results. Nowadays the CAD CAM procedure is the only one very predictible. The acrylic part is fabbricated milling a pressed polymerised industrial made resin. PMMA so treated is much more reliable in terms of flexing and liquid absorbing than the lab made resin. The final plan is obtained on the scanned model, where the cad program takes the understructure shape of the dental portion. Both the acrilic and the reinforcing part are then united with some composite material.

Computer design and milling procedures are the same as the one adopted for the realization of the final understructures. Virtual design is developed scanning the dental abutment on the model, so the shape of the reinforcing part is obtained adapting it to the abutment, giving it a very high precision. THE MARGINAL ADJUSTMENT IN THIS KIND OF TEMPORARY ABUTMENT IS MADE IN POLYAMIDE MATERIAL COVERED BY PMMA.

Due to the excellent physical characteristics of this material, this solution can be used as the traditional armed temporary abutment. They are rebasable with their specific acrylic resins and also with specific auto polymerised composits materials.

PMMA blocks are industrial prefabbricated according to 3 kind of cromatics gradients: Bright for A1-A2-B1-B2 colours, Middle for A3 e B3 colours and Heavy for A4-B4-C4 colours. The stratifications does not reach the level of individualization of pre shaping temporary element obtained using the flasking technic.
